6 best TRAVEL MOVIES I recommend! :)

Because of the current situation in the world, traveling might be challenging.

So let’s travel virtually! 🙂

Here are my 6 best travel movies I can recommend and they can help you dream where to go next. I’ve seen all the movies and I’m telling you that you won’t regret watching them! 🙂

Btw they are ranked from down to top ones 🙂

6. The Beach – Thailand

The movie is about a tourist (Leonardo DiCaprio) looking for paradise among the islands in Thailand. He’s looking for a beautiful hidden uninhabited beach.

MY MOVIE REVIEW: interesting story, one of the most beautiful beaches in the world (Phi Phi Islands – I’ve been there 🙂 ), the best actor ever is there – Leonardo (my most favorite one 🙂 ) …but sometimes there are some weird scenes.

5. The Bucket List – France, China, India, Nepal, Tanzania, Egypt

The story is about 2 men (Jack Nicholson, Morgan Freeman) who fulfill their “bucket list” = a list of activities to do before they “kick the bucket” (die).

MY MOVIE REVIEW: The idea of the bucket list is brilliant and will motivate you to travel more 🙂

4. Seven years in Tibet – Tibet

It’s a true story about Heinrich Harrer (Brad Pitt), an Austrian mountain climber obsessed with mountain climbing. He goes on a trip to the Himalayan mountains. And later he becomes friends with the Dalai Lama at the time of China’s takeover of Tibet.

MY MOVIE REVIEW: Beautiful scenery of Tibet, very interesting story, but sometimes there is a bad script (=scénář) – strange conversations 🙂

3. Wild – the USA

It’s a true story movie about a woman (Reese Witherspoon) who takes 1,100 miles solo hike (with no hiking experience) for self-discovery after her mother’s death and the breakdown of her marriage.

MY MOVIE REVIEW: very strong story which will sometimes make you cry and think about your life 🙂

2. Eat, pray, love – ITALY, INDIA, INDONESIA

After a bitter divorce, writer Elizabeth Gilbert (Julia Roberts) flies to Italy, India, and Indonesia to eat gelato (ice cream), pizza, and pasta; to heal and meditate, and to fall in love again.

MY MOVIE REVIEW: You’ll like the movie if you’ve ever felt lost in your life, and you like solo traveling, meeting locals and you’re interested in meditation. Moreover, you can really feel the atmosphere of the countries in the movie 🙂

1. The gods must be crazy – South Africa, Botswana

The story is about a bushman (=křovák) who travels to throw a bottle off the edge of the world because he thinks the thing is evil. On the way to the „end of the world“, he eventually meets a clumsy scientist, a female school teacher, and a dangerous band of guerrillas (=gerila, vzbouřenci).

MY MOVIE REVIEW: Although the movie was filmed in 1980, it’s still very funny! And I consider it one of my most favorite movies 🙂
